Week 33

Math:
Next week we will continue working on adding and subtracting. While this is the main focus, we will also be reviewing graphs. The student will sort and organize data into two or three categories. We will be using graphs to draw conclusions from real objects and pictures.
We will be using questions like: In this graph, which one has more/less/the same? En esta grafica, cual tiene mas/menos/igual?
You can make graphs at home using family members, favorite food or sport, etc.

Science:
We will continue studying animals. Please refer to the previous blog to practice the science vocabulary.

Week 32

Hello Parents,

In Math, the students will continue developing number sense by building upon understanding of
numbers and operations, counting sets up to 20 objects, decomposing numbers to 10 and representing amounts using appropriate notations. In addition, students will develop an understanding of the relationship between addition and subtraction by employing problem solving strategies in contextual situations.

In Science, during the last 6 six weeks students will study animals. We will be focusing in identifying the basic parts of animals. Also, the students will explore animals of different sizes, colors and body coverings. In this unit, the students will use their knowledge of the different characteristics of animals to sort them into groups using colors, sizes and body coverings.

Week 31- April 8-12

Dear Parents,
We are ending the 5th 6 weeks and we will start the last 6 weeks soon.

In Math, I will be reviewing all the objectives that I taught during this year. All these skills are very important because they are the foundation   for future years.
Among these skills we have counting to 100, counting backwards from 20-0, identifying numbers from 0-30 in random order and the names of the 2D and 3D shapes. Also, solving addition and subtraction problems.
As previously communicated, I would appreciate reviewing these skills at home.

In Science we will be reviewing the needs of living things and the parts of the plants. Also, we will be incorporating technology to create projects.

Thank you!
